I've done this same thing pretty frequently myself with photos of bands. You always get that one guy who blinks or won't stop talking, but everyone else looks great in the shot, so I have to find another shot where the blinker looks great, then transpose that head (or just face) onto the shot where everyone else looks good. Voila! The whole band looks fantastic and it's all really them. I tend to look at it more as manipulating time by a few minutes than manipulating beauty.
