In the last few years I have made it a point to go to as many business events as possible. Some are memberships others are public.

It’s all about relationships near and far.

There are a lot of great photographers you just need to let clients know YOU are interested in their needs.

I’ve sent postcards for years. Matter of fact, I did that on New Year’s Eve. Followed up with e-mails, and…

…radio silence.

I was crushed.

Then one lady sent me the NICEST e-mail. We’d met face to face last November, and I tried following up several times. To no avail, or so I thought.

She said that there wasn’t any immediate work, but there will be an opportunity in the coming months.

Moral of the story: Let go of unrealistic timetables. People will respond when they do, not when you think they ought to.
